Result:

gourmet grilled cheese.

From time to time, I like being inventive when it comes to making something as simple as grilled cheese. Last night was one of those times.

– Rye Bread

– Garlic chopped finely and mixed into melted butter (used as outside spread)

– Onions sauteed in Frank’s Red

– Provologne

– Cheddar

– Gherkin Pickels on the side 😉

Result:

Although tasty, I would have liked the sandwich to be a tad more crispy – I guess I was a little impatient 😛

TUM.

I went to the TO underground market (TUM) food fest the other weekend at The Brick Works.

Here are my highlights:

The Brick Works is a cool spot — almost a run down warehouse, even has old tracks running through it.

My friends (@ComidaDelPueblo) were at all 3 TUM’s and succeeded in having one of the largest lines each time. Famous for their cornbread grilled cheese, they were hard at work feeding the hungry ‘fans’. (Note: they sold out of grilled cheese at about 8pm – the event ran from 6pm until 11).

I shared this yummy sandwich with my boyfriend. The pork was from Cumbrae’s (one of my fave meat shops) and was topped with a runny egg (a nice touch).

I’ve been quite obsessed with @JamieOliver lately and so this woodfire oven made me very happy. Got one of each personal pizzas and they were delish to say the least.
